Osteoarthritis progression
The primary clinical motivation of our research program is to advance our understanding of the role of joint-level biomechanics in the initiation, progression, and treatment of osteoarthritis. Our research employs data-driven approaches to understanding the dimensionality and deviations in biomechanics outcomes through the lifespan of osteoarthritis. Together with colleagues over several decades, we have collected one of the largest, comprehensive and longitudinal human movement datasets of knee OA. Data acquired includes instrumented gait analysis outcomes (kinematics, kinetics, electromyography) and clinical information for more than 1500 individuals through the course of knee OA progression.
